The first of the two tasks schedule for 4/24-4/26 have been completed, but some

work remains on the second task, which we have scheduled for Tuesday April 30.



Estimated Start: 7:00 AM Tuesday 4/30/24

Estimated End:  5:00 PM Tuesday 4/30/24



Pod rows affected:
     R3-PA odd and even sides, “A” bus bars only

R4-PA odd and even sides ,“A” bus bars only

R5-PA odd and even sides, “A” bus bars only

R8-PA odd and even sides, “A” and “B” Bus bars



Tenant Impact
--------------------

There may be brief periods of time when we will ask everyone to leave the

Computer Room for safety (e.g. when a switchboard is being powered up).



Computing, Storage, and Networking equipment in the areas named above should

not be affected if it has been properly configured for operation with power cords

attached to both the “A” and “B” PDUs in its rack.



Equipment outside the areas named above should not be affected, independent of configuration.



There is elevated risk for the entire Computer Room while the work is being done.



Description
—————

Sequence of Operations will be

* After 7AM: Disable power to the A side bus bars in all of the areas named above

* Perform circuit breaker tests on the Switchboard that feeds the areas named abov

* Add bus plugs pod 8A

* Restore power to the areas named above

* Disable power to the B side bus bars in Pod 8A only

* Add bus plugs to pod 8A

* Restore power to the B side bus bars in Pod 8A





==============Prior Alert==============



A reminder that there will be work done on two sets of computer room

switchboards in the MGHPCC computer room this week:



Estimated Start: 7:00 AM Wednesday 4/24/24

Estimated End:  5:00 PM Friday 4/26/24


Task 1 -- Work planned for 4/24 and 4/25

Plan to power down the switchboards that feed power to the following areas

 of the MGHPCC data center to allow electrical work in the computer room.

Detailed schedule in the Description section below.

    R9-PC odd side

    R8-PC odd and even sides

    R7-PC odd and even sides

* Wed 4/24,  after 7AM: Disable power to the A side bus bars in the areas named above

* Wed 4/24,  after the electrical work is done: Restore A side power.

* Thu  4/25, after 7 AM: Disable power to the B side bus bars in the areas named above.

* Thu  4/25, after the electrical work is done: Restore B side power.



Task 2 Schedule is expected to be:

* Thu  4/25,  after 7AM: Disable power to the A side bus bars in the areas named above

* Thu  4/25,  after the electrical work is done: Restore A side power.

* Fri    4/26, after 7 AM: Disable power to the B side bus bars in the areas named above.

* Fri    4/26, after the electrical work is done: Restore B side power.
